The weekend after New Year's, we welcomed Grammy and Granddad for a visit. The girls were super excited to see them, especially because they brought a special gift from the north. SNOW! Granddad had gotten up extra early to pack up some snowballs and carefully tuck them into a cooler for the 8 hr drive. They survived the trip and the girls had fun hurling them off the porch. (I don't know why that's what we chose to do with them. What else should you do with hand-delivered snowballs?!)

We also had a little bit more Christmas (our third?), as the girls each got a special doll with many outfits. They were THRILLED and we have been dressing and undressing them several times a day ever since. (Even Molly has learned the fun of dressing dolls - she came over and squawked at me to put a shirt on a doll this morning, and then told me to put a purse on the doll!) Thank you, Grammy and Granddad, for such wonderful presents.

We had a nice visit in general but two activities stand out (and also happen to be the only things I took pictures of!). First, we celebrated Three Kings Day with them. Grandma and Popop made the cake and brought it over to share. Everyone got a piece, even Molly! Granddad was lucky enough to get the penny which brings luck through the year. A good way to start your first year in retirement!

We also went on an "explore" in the new development that is slowly growing thru the woods behind our house. We climbed a giant hill, wandered around the pre-paved streets, and found neat animal footprints in the mud. The girls had a great time being explorers.

Cute blog, Becky, and more fun times. Imported snowballs from Ohio are special and celebrating three Christmases is super fun! I do have to wonder why everyone was bundled up on your great explore behind your house except for Hayden who was wearing just pants and a t-shirt. Nah, I don't have to wonder...that's just Hayden!
